Guys, I had this problem for TWO weeks after upgrading to 8.0.4cs2, my eyes were crossing trying to find the solution and it took Digi two weeks to help me with the right answer.
Repeat steps 1-7 if you have other drivers that need updating with the “!”or “?”on them. Now you should see a list of compatible drivers. NOTE: If you see a list of categories instead of a list of drivers, scroll down to “ Sound Video & Game Controllers” & double click on it.
( Examples of drivers : Digidesign Mbox 2 Audio Driver, Digidesign Mbox 2 Midi Driver, Digidesign Mbox 2 Firmware Updater, Digidesign 003, Digidesign 002.) Note: It will likely tell you “ This driver is not digitally signed!“, but just click “ Next” anyways.
If it asks to connect to the Windows Update to search for software, choose: “ No, not at this time” and click “ Next“.In the device manager, right-click on driver with the “!” or “?” on it (or the “USB Audio Device”) and choose “ update driver“.If you can’t find the drivers anywhere, double check to make sure the M-box or 002/003 is plugged in directly to the back of the computer & not through any hub or computer monitor / keyboard.Once you’ve found them, follow THESE steps and note the directions in green. If you see neither the Mbox 2 Audio nor Mbox 2 Midi driver, look for them under the “ Unknown Devices” or “ Unused Devices” category. If you don’t see the Mbox 2 Audio Driver, look for something called “ Usb Audio Device” & follow THESE steps. For the Mbox 2, you should see “ Digidesign Mbox 2 Audio Driver” & “ Digidesign Mbox 2 Midi Driver” – If either of them have a yellow “!” or “?” next to them, then follow THESE steps.
